As a teenager, I spent countless hours listening to my favourite artists, building record collections and discovering the songs that would stay with me for decades. Music became the soundtrack to life's milestones, friendships and unforgettable memories.
Today, I am delighted to bring that lifelong passion to the airwaves as presenter of Turn Back Time on 91.8 Hayes FM. Each week, I celebrate the music, artists and unforgettable memories that shaped a generation. I also have the pleasure of interviewing well-known artists, special guests and showcasing local events, organisations and community activities throughout the London Borough of Hillingdon.
From the swinging sixties and the British Invasion, to the glamour of seventies disco, platform shoes and glittering dance floors, through to the bold fashions, big hair and iconic anthems of the eighties, every song tells a story. These were the decades of Saturday night discos, sequins, soul, first loves, family holidays, friendship and unforgettable moments.
Music has a remarkable ability to transport us back in time, rekindling memories, emotions and experiences long thought forgotten. It can lift our spirits during difficult times, bring comfort when we need it most and heal the soul in ways that words alone often cannot. A single song can reconnect us with loved ones, treasured memories and some of life's most meaningful moments.
Through Turn Back Time, I invite listeners to revisit those treasured years, relive the soundtrack of their lives and reconnect with the songs that made them smile, dance, sing and dream. Along the way, listeners can also discover inspiring guests, local stories and the people who help make our community such a vibrant place to live and work.
FRANK ALLEN - THE SEARCHERS
In March 2025, I had the pleasure of welcoming Frank Allen of The Searchers to Turn Back Time on 91.8 Hayes FM. A longstanding friend of my family, Frank grew up in Hayes, Middlesex, just a few miles from where I live today. Despite a career spanning more than six decades, his passion, humour and knowledge of the music industry remain as strong as ever. During our two-and-a-half-hour conversation, Frank shared memories of his early life, recording some of the band's biggest hits, touring throughout the UK and America, and witnessing the incredible changes that have shaped the music industry over the years.
Particularly exciting was Frank's discussion about The Searchers' appearance at Glastonbury Festival 2026, which was being billed as the band's final live performance. We were delighted to be among the first to share the news with our listeners on 91.8 Hayes FM. However, when asked whether this really would be the end, Frank simply smiled and replied: "Never say never!" Warm, engaging and wonderfully down to earth, Frank was a delight to interview, and his appearance remains one of the highlights of my broadcasting journey.

Featuring acclaimed vocalist Noel McCalla, award-winning saxophonist Derek Nash, and an outstanding live band, the show celebrates the music of one of the world's greatest artists. Audiences can look forward to classic hits including Superstition, I Wish, Signed, Sealed, Delivered, My Cherie Amour and many more from Stevie Wonder's remarkable catalogue.
Ahead of the show's appearance at The Beck Theatre, Hayes, I had the pleasure of interviewing Derek Nash on Turn Back Time at 91.8 Hayes FM. Derek's passion for music is truly outstanding, and his enthusiasm, talent and knowledge of the industry shone throughout our conversation.
Having performed with artists including Gregory Porter, Chaka Khan, Eric Clapton, Amy Winehouse and as a long-standing member of Jools Holland's Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Derek brings exceptional musicianship to this celebration of Stevie Wonder's music.

Where it All Began
I was just 16 years old and still at school when I first stepped behind a microphone to present Wednesday Night Requests on Hospital Radio Hillingdon. What began as a teenage hobby quickly became a lifelong passion. Even then, I was fascinated by the ability of radio to connect people through music, conversation and companionship. Those early broadcasts taught me valuable lessons in communication, confidence and presenting, laying the foundations for a broadcasting journey that continues to this day. Looking back, I could never have imagined that those Wednesday evenings would mark the beginning of a lifelong love affair with radio. 🎙️✨
Music has a remarkable ability to touch the soul in ways that words alone often cannot. It can lift our spirits, bring comfort during difficult times and transport us instantly back to treasured moments in our lives. From the songs played at weddings and celebrations to the melodies that accompany our final farewells, music forms the soundtrack to our life's journey. It connects us to people, places, memories and emotions, reminding us not only where we have been, but also who we are. Perhaps that is why a favourite song can still make us smile, shed a tear or relive a cherished memory many years later. 🎵✨
